Getting Started

gnizr™ (gə-nīzər) is an open source application for social bookmarking and web mashup. It is easy to use gnizr to create a personalized del.icio.us-like portal for a group of friends and colleagues to store, classify, and share information, and mash-it-up with information about location.

To log into gnizr for the Puget Sound Mashup, navigate to the gnizr Login Page: http://im.gnizr.com/

Use the following login information:
Username: epaguest
Password: epa07

Once in the gnizr application, you'll want to get right down to business creating, tagging, and sharing bookmarks. But first you'll want to create a unique new Tag with your name or 'handle'. We want you to place this tag on all bookmarks that you create so we can easily identify your contributions. The best time to add your new name Tag is when you are adding your first bookmark, where you can simply type in the new name tag as you're entering the tag list for the bookmark. For subsequent bookmarks, you can simply pick your name Tag from the list. Also, we recommend that you create a new folder (with a unique name) and move bookmarks you've added to the new folder. This will permit you to readily evaluate only your set of bookmarks in the Map and Clustermap views.

Unless someone is guiding your user training efforts, we suggest you start by reviewing gnizr Help (below).
